Mo & Matt’s relationship began after meeting for the first time at Crossfit.  Mo was new to D.C. and wanted to meet some friends and Crossfit was the perfect place for her to find some community in her new city!  Matt was apparently very interested in Mo, but it took her a little longer to see the light 😉  Finally, she agreed to have dinner with Matt and she says they both knew on that first date that they would one day be married.  I love stories like this…it may not have been “love at first sight” but it was definitely “love at first date”!! These two love to fish and Matt took Mo fishing at his parent’s river house on the Rappahannock and about halfway through their morning Mo reeled her line in and turned around to see Matt on one knee proposing to her!  He had a wonderful afternoon planned for them to celebrate at Merrior with oysters, cocktails, and that sweet ocean breeze!

Because of Matt’s love of oysters….it’s been a running theme for their relationship (even though Mo actually doesn’t like them!).  Rappahannock Oyster Co. will be catering oysters at their wedding reception.  We naturally had to start our session there with a few cocktails and oysters! They are getting married at The Branch Museum next year and to say I’m excited to photograph it would be an understatement. Mo & Matt, thank you for letting me be a part of your story.  I’m honored…and I hope you love these engagement photos as much as I do!
