Ohhhhh you guys!!!! How I LOVE proposal sessions!! It is so much fun to be in on the secret and help the guy plan his proposal for his lady! Joe contacted me about a month ago wanting to plan his perfect proposal to Angela. Joe and Angela live in Connecticut, but Joe, a UofR alum, knew he wanted to propose to her at the gazebo on University of Richmond’s campus. This location is the epitome of romantic and it turned out to be the most perfect location for Joe to ask Angela to marry him!
The story: Angela had asked for a “sweetheart photo shoot” with a professional photographer for her birthday so Joe knew this would be the perfect way to propose! He gifted her with a session with me so she knew to get dressed up! They drove down to Richmond Saturday morning and Joe took Angela shopping in RVA’s shopping district, Carytown. She found the most perfect pale pink, scalloped hem dress that looked absolutely stunning on her!
Joe was so calm and collected throughout the first 30 or so minutes of their session. But it was so hard to pose them them in a way that her hand wouldn’t brush against the ring box in his jacket pocket!! I had to get a little creative to avoid spoiling the surprise! We walked down through the gorgeous U of R campus and slowly made our way to the gazebo where Joe was planning to propose. Once we got there, I put them into position, gave Joe a thumbs up and before she knew it, Joe was on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him! After a few moments of disbelief, Angela said yes and the celebrating began! We did a few more pictures on the way back to our cars and the two lovebirds headed to dinner to celebrate together!
Shooting proposals is so much fun and so worth the work that goes into planning it and keeping it a surprise! Joe totally took Angela by surprise and I am honored to have been there to capture it for them! Congratulations you two! Let the wedding planning begin!
