Amy and Matt were married at Irvine Estate at the end of June and it was such a perfect summer wedding. These two love the outdoors and going on adventures, so this was the perfect backdrop for their big day. There are so many wonderful moments about their day, but there are a few that just stand out to me! Amy and Matt wrote their own vows and read them to one another during their first look. It was so intimate and romantic. There were lots of happy tears! Amy’s first look with her father was also very sweet! Their dog, Cooper, was a huge part of their day and even walked down the aisle! He is such a good boy!
Guests were invited to pick a stone and during the ceremony they wished their blessings for the couple during a traditional Scottish Oathing Stone ceremony, which is traditional in Amy’s family. Matt presented Amy with a second wedding band during the service, which is traditional in his family’s Swedish culture. The second band is symbolic of motherhood. How sweet is that? I absolutely loved the merging of their families traditions.
The reception was full of handmade details such as the floral arrangements, signs, guestbook, menus and even the cake! All of this was lovingly and expertly created by Amy and some of her family and friends! One of my favorite touches at the reception was Amy and Matt’s Adventure Book. This is a book that Amy started when the two began dating. My favorite part of the day? How do I pick just one?! But if I had to choose, sunset photos! This was Amy’s holy grail…she LOVES sunset photos and wanted to make sure we had tons of time to soak in the sunset and that warm, glowy light. These sunset photos are definitely some of my favorites of all time!
It was such a fun night and the couple spent the warm June evening laughing and celebrating with their family and friends. Congratulations on your best adventure yet, Amy and Matt!
