If you’re ever curious about what real, true joy looks like, just look at Beni and John and you’ll know! All weddings are joyful, but this wedding? It was something extra special! From the moment Beni and I started chatting about her wedding day, I knew it would be one for the books. Beni and John met in their final year at Liberty University. They met at a bonfire and quickly became friends, and then realized there was something much deeper. They began dating and eventually graduated – John returned home to Texas and Beni stayed here in Virginia. John and surprised Beni on a girls night out by flying in from Texas and covering her apartment in candles and twinkle lights. he had her family there to celebrate their engagement which just goes to show how thoughtful and genuine he is! Beni and John’s love for the Lord is evident in every interaction and the joy that radiates from them is definitely a gift from the Lord.
They celebrated their wedding day at the incredible Irvine Estate tucked away in the mountains of Lexington, Virginia. Surrounded by 150 or so close friends and family, there was no lack of excitement and love!! Beni wore an ivory lace gown by Essence of Australia and her bridesmaids wore blush dresses from H&M (YES! H&M!). She wore jewelry gifted to her by John and her shoes were the most beautiful floral print Betsey Johnsons! Beni took great care when planning her wedding day, all the way down to the details and special moments of the day. Beni had her grandfather’s ring tied to her bouquet. Beni and John opted out of a first look, but they decided to share a moment of prayer and they exchanged letters. John has been writing letters since he decided to propose to Beni, so this was such a special time for her to read them! Beni and her dad shared a first look that brought tears to my eyes!
The ceremony simple and focused on the Lord and Beni and John’s marriage. They sang “Come Thou Fount” and afterwards, both sets of parents laid their hands on the couple in prayer. Instead of a sand/candle ceremony, Beni and John took communion together. The reception was so much fun, and it was kicked off with the best toast I have ever seen! The best man and matron of honor created a rendition of “I Want it That Way” for Beni and John and the entire room was in hysterics! Beni and her dad’s first dance was a super fun dance consisting of the Macarena, the Twist, the Wobble, and more! Before John and his mom’s first dance, she read “I’ll Love You Forever” (OMG – this pregnant mama was BAWLING behind the camera!!). I really can’t say enough about how wonderful Beni and John (and all the bridal party and family) were to work with. It was truly an honor to capture their day! Congratulations Beni & John!!
Beni and John had some amazing vendors come together to make their day so special! Thank you!!!
